This simple but effective cover for The Backwater Sermons by Jay Hulme aimed to convey the urban beauty found in unexpected places, a suggestion of life and hope. We wanted to give the cover a contemporary feel with it’s minimalist design and the prominent san serif typeface laid over the image.

Jay’s work not only gives voice and movement to his own story but also, and crucially, to our collective experience. And the truth held in Jay’s words will speak beyond chronology of events and continue to annotate the future.’
