We have been working with the team at the Church of England on their campaign for Lent and Easter 2019, creating two accompanying books under the title ‘Pilgrim Journeys’. The books, titled 40 Days of Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer and 40 Days of Reflections on The Beatitudes are an immense 100 pages each and are full colour throughout. This summer marks the 15th anniversary of Penguin Boy design. Unlike with penguins, time has flown by. Over 2,000 projects completed and counting. Enjoy a hastily drawn penguin with a birthday cake to commemorate the day!

As part of our ongoing work with Woodbrooke we have redesigned their 2018 Events and Conferencing brochure. To fit in with the new branding, we created a clean and modern design with a heavy use of the bespoke photography taken of the beautiful Birmingham venue. We also took the opportunity to talk through with our clients the key messages which the brochure needed to communicate and where we saw the strengths of Woodbrooke. The result was a brochure structured to promote the many unique selling points of the venue as well as the text only cover which significantly moved away from the previous pre-rebrand version. The 16 page brochure also has a pocket at the back for additional inserts to be included so the brochure can be customised depending on the enquiry. You can see the full design here.

The latest edition of the What’s On guide for Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, has just been released, covering the Summer 2018. We’ve been regularly designing the programme as part of our work with the Cathedral for the past few years as part of helping develop the identity and profile of the Cathedral as well as better promoting the events and activities they do. We’ve also been creating other resources for the education team there including Prayer Trails and information booklets to schools.

We have been working on a series of book covers for the publishers SCM Press. The books, which are going to be released over the next few months, have been for a range of authors and we have been enjoying creatively interpreting the books subject matter into concepts for the covers. The first four of the books are Post-Christendom – Church and Mission in a Strange New World (a second edition of a book originally published in the US), Seeking the God Beyond, Buying God – Church, Consumerism and Theology and Theology for Changing Times. We have recently developed and built a new website for the Body Mind Spirit Partnership. The aim of the partnership is to link community groups focused on support for older people across Birmingham and the surrounding area. We created the website to promote the partner organisations and help their users access their services. The responsively designed website gives profiles to each partner organisation where they can log-in and update their own details, including an events and activities diary.

We’ve been working with the Church of England on 2018’s campaign for Lent, Live Lent: Let Your Light Shine. Having designed the 116 page full colour book, course notes and social media graphics, the Church of England used the materials to create an app for the project. You can get the app on Apple Store and Google Play as well as finding more information on the website https://www.churchofengland.org/lent.
The Church of England have just put live their new website (https://www.churchofengland.org) and we’re really pleased to have several of the projects we’ve been working with them on feature. As well as the Advent and Christmas campaign #Godwithus, there is another new projects we’ve been working on, the Pilgrim Way, along with the websites we developed for Christenings, Weddings and Funerals.
There’s some information on what the #GodWithUs project is about here, and a video about it too. Pilgrim Way is part of the Pilgrim project – we have designed a book for it which is about to be published.
We are very pleased to be involved in #GodWithUs, the Church of England’s major new digital and print campaign for Christmas, which has just been launched. As well as creating a 36 page full-colour booklet for the project we have been busy creating graphics for print and new media to help publicise the campaign. We were pleased to help design some promotional material for the University of Warwick Chaplaincy to hand out to new students across the university this past month. We designed a set of button badges which featured a series of well known sayings from different faiths mounted on a card which introduces the work of the Chaplaincy. We also designed some large format posters to promote the various events at the Chaplaincy welcoming people to Warwick University.
We have recently designed a new identity for St Peter’s Church in Coventry. The church was looking for a new identity that would show a community focused church with life and creativity at it’s heart. We created several versions of the identity so that it could be used flexibly across the many projects the church and church centre are involved in. We are looking forward to working with them more in the future.
Update: St Peter’s have recently created signage using the new identity. Very much like the results!
