We started work with Deaf Blind UK, an established national charity supporting people with sight and hearing loss, designing and building their new website. Focusing on the needs of their users, we developed an accessible website with clear layouts and a UX which provides effective signposting to content across the site.

We came alongside a high quality interior decorating company, BH Painters and Decorators, to create a new brand identity for the company. Bradley, the owner, wanted us to focus on creating a brand which reflected their modern approach to the trade, the high-quality work they do and a the personal service they give to customers. The end result, including a silhouette of the owner, is intended to be used in a series of bold contrasting colours to represent their vibrant and forward-thinking approach to the trade. As we continue to work with the company we are looking forward to developing their identity on-line and in print. #reviewof2018
It was brilliant to be given the opportunity to work with Adavu, a charity who provide support for victims of modern slavery and raise awareness of the issue in the UK, to create a website to support the invaluable work they do.
The website is an example of our Charity & Community Website Package which provides a cost-effective solution for delivering quality websites using our own bespoke template design with customisable content, colours and structure. The website is responsively designed (so works across phone, tablet and desktop computers) and built like many of our sites using WordPress, a powerful content management system (CMS)
You can visit the website here https://www.adavu.org.uk If you’re a charity or a community organisation and would like to find out more about our specialised website solutions for your sector we would love to hear from you. #reviewof2018
We probably don’t shout about this as much as we should but we do a whole bunch of work connected to developing websites other than just the design and build:-
- We do in-depth analysis of website analytics to report on the strengths and weaknesses of any website (not just the ones we’ve made).
- We do effective Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) work to improve the profile of our clients on-line.
- We do comprehensive reviews of User Experience (UX) of a site, analysing user journeys and reporting on what can be improved to increase sales and successful interaction with a site.
- We do UX workshops to inform on the first stages of a new or redesigned website to make sure key objectives for the site are being addressed and weaknesses considered.
There is so much more to websites than picking colours, fonts and the right image for the home page. Interested in knowing more? Contact us.
We had an incredibly busy last six months of 2018, working on a range of engaging and creative projects for clients old and new. We’re going to post a few items about them over the next few weeks before we forget about them! #reviewof2018 #webdesign #bookdesign #brandidentity
We have been working with the team at the Church of England on their campaign for Lent and Easter 2019, creating two accompanying books under the title ‘Pilgrim Journeys’. The books, titled 40 Days of Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer and 40 Days of Reflections on The Beatitudes are an immense 100 pages each and are full colour throughout. Over the next few months we are looking forward to seeing both books being promoted alongside the digital media campaign, you can see more about the Church of England’s campaign for Lent and Easter on the Church of England website. This summer marks the 15th anniversary of Penguin Boy design. Unlike with penguins, time has flown by. Over 2,000 projects completed and counting. Enjoy a hastily drawn penguin with a birthday cake to commemorate the day!

As part of our ongoing work with Woodbrooke we have redesigned their 2018 Events and Conferencing brochure. To fit in with the new branding, we created a clean and modern design with a heavy use of the bespoke photography taken of the beautiful Birmingham venue. We also took the opportunity to talk through with our clients the key messages which the brochure needed to communicate and where we saw the strengths of Woodbrooke. The result was a brochure structured to promote the many unique selling points of the venue as well as the text only cover which significantly moved away from the previous pre-rebrand version. The 16 page brochure also has a pocket at the back for additional inserts to be included so the brochure can be customised depending on the enquiry. You can see the full design here.

The latest edition of the What’s On guide for Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, has just been released, covering the Summer 2018. We’ve been regularly designing the programme as part of our work with the Cathedral for the past few years as part of helping develop the identity and profile of the Cathedral as well as better promoting the events and activities they do. We’ve also been creating other resources for the education team there including Prayer Trails and information booklets to schools.

We have been working on a series of book covers for the publishers SCM Press. The books, which are going to be released over the next few months, have been for a range of authors and we have been enjoying creatively interpreting the books subject matter into concepts for the covers. The first four of the books are Post-Christendom – Church and Mission in a Strange New World (a second edition of a book originally published in the US), Seeking the God Beyond, Buying God – Church, Consumerism and Theology and Theology for Changing Times. You can buy the books by going to the website of SCM Press.

We have recently developed and built a new website for the Body Mind Spirit Partnership. The aim of the partnership is to link community groups focused on support for older people across Birmingham and the surrounding area. We created the website to promote the partner organisations and help their users access their services. The responsively designed website gives profiles to each partner organisation where they can log-in and update their own details, including an events and activities diary.
